Custom Sign Maker for Architects
Wrightfeldhusen Architects are renowned for their premium finish, spectacular residential designs with a ‘Contemporary approach which explores the manipulation of space, form, materials and light’. Their unique passion for everything visual brought them and the custom sign maker team at Momo Visual together. Working in tandem with the firms interior designers and architects as well as the contracted builders onsite we came up with solutions that provide a real flow through their designs which brings rooms and living areas together on several projects.
In this project a particular patterned screen was developed for the entry hallway into this riverside residence. A metal screen work was produced and installed onto some exterior window spaces as a feature to the entry. After liaising with the client and the architects it was decided to keep this pattern in a reverse theme running through the house. These individually cut pieces of the pattern from printed and laminated aggressive adhesive vinyl were pieced together and spanned from the front verandah through the entry and down the hallway to the rear of the property on the ceiling connecting several living spaces.

Challenges Overcome:
Finding a solution to fit within the budget and effectively use materials was the first hurdle.
To best use the film available the design was slightly altered to maximize usage and keep costs to a minimum. Creating the artwork file for a 30m long corridor and making sure it all lined up was a challenge and then cutting more than 12000 individual pieces out and preparing for install took the best part of a week.
Onsite we required scaffolding to be erected in the house for access to the ceiling and over a 2 day period the obstacle for 3 of us to install graphics above our head and keeping the pattern aligned was both a physically and mentally demanding situation.
